If you report your move too late, you will be fined
Everyone who moves must report their move to the National Register of Persons five days after the move at the latest according to the Civil Registration System Act. However, the Municipality of Aalborg has decided to issue a fine when the move is reported later than 14 days after the moving date.
It is possible to report your move four weeks before your actual move, meaning that you have six weeks to report your move in time.
You will be fined 500 Danish kroner:
• If you report your move to the Municipality of Aalborg too late.
• If you give incorrect information about the move itself.
• If you fail to provide the requested information in regards to the move.
Reference is made to the Civil Registration System Act no. 5 of January 9 2013: §12 section 1: Everyone who moves is obligated to notify the move to the new municipality of residence no later than five days after the move.
