In Denmark, you must have a bank account, use NemID and receive digital mail from public services.
Bank Account
When you live in Denmark, you must have a bank account, which is also used as a NemKonto. A NemKonto is used by the authorities to pay benefits and the like. This can include reimbursement of overpaid tax or payment of a student grant.

NemID
When you open a bank account in Denmark, you can also use the bank's online banking system. To use online banking, you must use a NemID, which the bank issues to you. NemID is a digital signature and login solution used for self-service on the Internet.
Digital Post
In Denmark, residents over age 15 receive their mail from the authorities digitally in their digital mailbox. It is important to check your digital mailbox regularly.
