About dental care
Cavities are caused by bacteria on the teeth. The bacteria are the same color as the teeth, so they are hard to see. The bacteria are removed when the teeth are brushed.
Brush your child’s teeth in the morning and in the evening. You should brush your child’s teeth until Tandplejen informs you that the child is able to brush by him-/herself, usually around the age of 10.
Always use a toothpaste with 1400-1500 ppm fluoride (check the tube). Sugar ruins the teeth.
Your child will receive free dental care until the age of 18. You will be notified when it is time for a checkup. You are always welcome to contact us if you have any questions regarding your child’s dental health. We strive to prevent cavities in the teeth, which is why your child should visit the dentist even though the teeth are healthy.
